Great Show; Average Setting
I was excited to grab some "awesome" floor seats during the ticket pre-sale, but I ended up being disappointed with my expensive seats at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. The floor was flat, and we sat on tiny folding chairs with no place for my coat or drink. While Corinne Bailey Rae always delivers an unforgettable performance, my view of her on stage was obstructed by tall people in front of me most of the time. I noticed that the stadium seating had much nicer accommodations compared to the floor seats, and I expected more from such a new facility like the Sprint Center.
The opening band's loud mix of reggae and hip hop didn't resonate with me, and they stayed on stage for too long playing about 10 songs. The bass was overpowering, and it was challenging to enjoy the music. It didn't seem like the right match for Corinne's more mellow style.
As for the music, Corinne's performance was outstanding as always. She sang a variety of songs from different albums, including only a few from her newest album.
